omputers and computing have acquired a central role in most aspects of professional, social and financial life. Expertise in computing is broadly desired and those who possess it have a clear advantage in both industry and academia. On the other hand, the rapidly changing nature of the field makes the value of most computer related training programs diminish very rapidly.
The aim of our programs is to enable their graduates to retain a lifelong expertise in computing, always being able to stay ahead of the field. Our philosophy towards this goal is that although specific tools and programs may change constantly, the main principles that form the essence of computing remain unchanged. Thus, our programs comprise exactly this: studies on the essence of computer science and computing. Of course, state of the art tools are presented and utilized throughout the programs as they should be. Our difference from other programs is that the focus is mainly on the principles that govern the design, implementation and practical applications of computing rather than simply on the specific options offered by currently available commercial tools.
